Description

Scholars Entrepreneurship Fund (SEF 2.0) – Pre-Selection Form (2025-2026) The Scholars Entrepreneurship Fund (SEF 2.0) is an initiative of the Mastercard Foundation implemented under the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at the University of Rwanda in partnership with BAG Innovation. The program aims to support University of Rwanda Undergraduate Students to develop innovative, entrepreneurial, impactful and scalable ideas that respond to community challenges. Selected teams will be invited to the HATANA Innovation Bootcamp, scheduled for 23rd-28th March 2026 in Kigali (Kigali Conference & Exhibition Village (KCEV)), where they will receive entrepreneurship training and compete for grant funding of up to USD 5,000 to support the development of their projects, aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Rwanda National Strategy for Transformation (NST2), and Vision 2050 priorities.

Requirements

Eligibility Requirements To be considered, applicants must: 1: Be undergraduate students at the University of Rwanda 2: Be willing to form a team of 3–5 members 3: Each team must include at least one Mastercard Foundation Scholar at UR in their team 4: In each team, at least 70% should be female 5: Each business idea/project should address at least one SDG, aligned with NST2 or Vision 2050 6: Be open to meeting inclusion requirements: youth with disabilities, refugees, international students 7: Be available to participate in the HATANA Innovation Bootcamp (23–28 March 2026)
