Catholic University of Rwanda (CUR)
Overview
The Catholic University of Rwanda (CUR) is a private higher learning institution located in Huye District in Rwanda's Southern Province. Founded in 2010 by Bishop Philippe Rukamba of the Butare Catholic Diocese, CUR is committed to providing quality higher education, training, research, and community service while promoting ethical, moral, and social values. The university received definitive accreditation from the Government of Rwanda in 2015.
CUR offers undergraduate and postgraduate education across several academic disciplines, with programmes designed to develop both professional competence and students' intellectual, social, and ethical development. Its academic structure includes faculties covering business, education, health sciences, science and technology, social work, catechesis and religious sciences, as well as theology.

1. Faculty of Business Studies
The Faculty of Business Studies focuses on business, accounting, finance, management, economics, and commercial education. It prepares students for careers in business management, accounting, banking and finance, entrepreneurship, and other commercial sectors. Current programmes include Management and Accounting, with options in Accounting and Finance and Banking, as well as Commercial Engineering. The faculty also offers professional training such as CPA.

2. Faculty of Education
The Faculty of Education prepares teachers, education professionals, administrators, and education specialists. Its programmes cover both science and arts/social-science combinations. Students can study areas such as Biology and Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology, Mathematics and Chemistry, Economics and Computer Science, Mathematics and Computer Science, Mathematics and Geography, Mathematics and Economics, English and Kinyarwanda, English and French, French and Kinyarwanda, Economics and Entrepreneurship, English and Kiswahili, English and History, Economics and History, and Economics and Geography. The faculty also offers Educational Management and Planning.

3. Faculty of Health Sciences
The Faculty of Health Sciences focuses on healthcare, public health, nutrition, nursing, midwifery, and biomedical laboratory sciences. Its programmes include Public Health, Human Nutrition, General Nursing, Midwifery, and Biomedical Laboratory Sciences. These programmes prepare students for professional roles in healthcare delivery, public health, clinical support, nutrition, and community health.

4. Faculty of Science and Technology
This faculty focuses on scientific and technological education, including computing and food-related sciences. Its current undergraduate offerings include Computer Science and Food Processing, providing pathways into technology, computing, food industries, research, and related technical careers.

5. Faculty of Social Work
The Faculty of Social Work focuses on human welfare, families, communities, and social development. Its programmes include Child and Family Studies and Welfare and Social Development, preparing graduates for careers in social services, community development, child and family support, and social development programmes.

6. Faculty of Catechesis and Religious Sciences
This faculty focuses on religious education, catechesis, and the study of religion. It offers Bachelor with Honours in Catechesis and Bachelor with Honours in Religious Sciences, preparing students for work involving religious education, pastoral activities, community service, and religious studies.
