Overview

The University of Kigali (UoK) is a private, fully accredited and chartered university in Rwanda, established in 2013. The university offers undergraduate, graduate, professional, and short-course programmes designed to respond to the needs of Rwanda’s and the wider region’s labour markets. UoK has six academic and professional schools covering business, technology, education, law, postgraduate studies, and professional development.

Faculties & Schools

  • 1. School of Business Management and Economics
    This school focuses on business, finance, accounting, economics, marketing, public administration, and procurement and supply chain management. It prepares students for careers in business management, financial institutions, government, entrepreneurship, marketing, accounting, and related fields. Current undergraduate programmes include Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Economics, Supplies and Procurement Management, and Public Administration and Local Governance.
  • 2. School of Computing and Information Technology
    The School of Computing and Information Technology focuses on computer science, information technology, and the application of technology in business and other sectors. It offers programmes in Computer Science, Information Technology, and Business Information Technology, preparing students for careers in software, IT infrastructure, information systems, and technology-driven businesses.
  • 3. School of Education
    The School of Education prepares educators, education managers, researchers, and leaders. Its programmes focus on education and child development, with the Bachelor of Education with Honours in Early Childhood Development Education among its undergraduate offerings. The university also offers postgraduate education programmes through its graduate studies.
  • 4. School of Law
    The School of Law provides legal education and prepares students for professional careers in the legal sector, including legal practice, public service, corporate environments, and other areas requiring legal expertise. Its undergraduate programme is the Bachelor of Laws Degree with Honours.
  • 5. Graduate School
    The Graduate School provides postgraduate education for students seeking advanced academic and professional qualifications. Its programmes cover areas including business administration, finance, information technology, project management, economics, human resource management, procurement and supply chain management, public policy, public administration, and education management.
